Seeing as Mothers Day is right around the corner what better time than now for a ‘last minute’ update on the incredible jewels from Ernest and Joe, a  mother and daughter design duo based in Geelong Victoria. Sally and Mia can be found working from their back-shed studio with a cuppa in one hand and the soldering iron in the other to come up with these beautiful 100% recycled Australian silver works of art. For the golden gals’ out there they have recently added 9ct gold and rose gold to their collection meaning that their designs are no longer exclusively for the silver sista’s

They cater for custom orders if there is something you have in mind that doesn’t quite fit the designs they have in-store and are super keen to make sure you are happy with your item. Doesn’t fit? Not problem, they will take the item back and see you in the right size.

I came across the label a little while back on Instagram and bought my dear friend a triangle bangle for her birthday. Funnily enough as I was wrapping her gift in an up-cycled Frankie magazine page I realised the photo shoot I was wrapping her bangle in actually had an Ernest and Joe jewellery item in it. How’s that for serendipity! Since then I made a sneaky stacker ring purchase for the E&J Good Friday appeal fundraiser. This year Sally and Mia raised six thousand dollar for the Royal Children’s Hospital by donating the profits of their stackable ring sales. A pretty mighty effort for a duo who work from a shed full of teacups, cake and beautiful jewels.

So even if you won’t get it delivered in time for Mothers Day it I am sure mum won’t mind the wait. You could make her an e-card with the jewellery image inside.

Love your work Ernest and Joe.
